Diversity in Hiring Practices: An Equal Opportunity Employer
A key value of our corporate culture is having a safe and professional workplace where our people can feel comfortable and accepted. We believe diversity, equity, and inclusion are vital to creating and maintaining a successful workplace where everyone can thrive personally and professionally. As a Canadian company, our workforce reflects the diversity of Canada. Paladin Airport Security’s workforce comprises a diverse range of ages, cultures, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.
To aid in the progression of our learning, and organizational goals in this area, Paladin Airport Security has registered under the Federal Contractors Program. As an employer under this program, we have committed to implementing an effective employment equity program while ensuring members of the four designated groups under the Employment Equity Act (women, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, and visible minorities) are appropriately represented in our workforce. Although employment equity is designed to eliminate employment barriers that these groups may face in our organization, employment equity benefits everyone in the workplace and we will make a concerted effort to ensure other underrepresented groups are also equitably represented through all levels of our operation.
What DEIB means to us
Diversity: the presence of difference in a space where everyone of different identity markers are welcome. Markers such as age, gender, race, disability, socioeconomic status, education, ethnicity, religious or political beliefs, sexual orientation, and many others.
Equity: The elimination of disparity and disproportionality in the workplace. Equity is achieved when there are no longer disproportionate opportunities in the workplace.
Inclusion: Inclusion is the practice of providing a welcoming space to diverse people. Supporting, recognizing, and celebrating their contributions.
Belonging: Belonging is about creating and fostering a culture where people can be themselves, appreciate each other, and feel part of something bigger.
Driving Diversity Forward
Paladin Airport Security understands the importance of creating an open dialogue with our employees to better educate, learn and support each other. Our vision statement is to make the world a safer & friendlier place. This statement is meant for everyone, not just communities of privilege. In order to do that, we must constantly be learning from ourselves and those around us to continuously grow and improve. We would like to take this opportunity to learn from our staff about their experiences and provide resources for those who are still learning.
Land Acknowledgement
Paladin Airport Security Services acknowledges the unceded and ancestral lands and the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples on which our airports are located.
